"Very friendly and concerned about my teeth and comfort. I'm so very thankful for their services."- K.S. / Google / Mar 15, 2018
"My very first visit to Dental Works was to get a painful tooth extracted. It went amazingly well.. Dr. Spurgas was wonderful and his assistant, Natasha, was absolutely wonderful. I have lived in the Hickory area for 10 plus years and wish I had heard about Dental Works back then. But better late than never. I went in yesterday for my "new patient" appt. I can not tell you how empressed I was. I have never had such an indepth exam from a denal outfit in my life. From Jessica, who took individual x-rays of my teeth to Michele who examined each and every tooth and then the one and only amazing Dr. Spurgas who told me the treatment plan they figured out for me. I've got a lot of work to be done but believe me I know I'm in capable hands with my team and Dental Works."- T.C. / Google / Mar 02, 2018
"Great place. Friendly and knowledgable staff. I am from Chapel Hill, and I love this place more than UNC Chapel Hill Dental a lot more, because the staff are a lot more personal. Even though they don't have the most up to date equipment, my insurance works with them while UNC does not."- M.Z. / Google / Jan 28, 2018

What to Expect
A detailed dental check will proceed with a conversation between our dentist and the patient. Our dentist will record a history about the patient's health, including any medical history and current medications. Our dentist will talk with the patient to find out if they have became aware of any areas of concern. To get a accurate picture of the individual's mouth, our dentist will obtain digital X-rays to obtain an image of the mouth. A visual examination of the mouth with probing will also aid in finding signs of oral concerns. The probing instrument will be used to examine the strength of the gums by measuring the depth of the gum pockets and finding areas of inflammation.
If our dentists find any areas of infection during the dental examination, they will work with the him or her about possible dental procedures that may be completed at DentalWorks - Hickory or at the patient's home. Dental well visits will be recommended so that the he or she can continue to keep up with their overall oral health. If a patient continues to have ongoing symptoms our dentists may advise that the patient consult with a dental specialist.
The benefits manager at DentalWorks - Hickory will contact the patient's dental insurance company to determine coverage all expected costs prior to the visit. DentalWorks - Hickory offers credit options to help assist with the cost.
